Gamer Therapy
New Service! Is video or tabletop gaming familiar to you? Contrary to some outdated stereotypes, video or board gaming, as well as other activities of "geek culture" can be healthy hobbies. Not only can these build social skills and create community, they can also contribute towards a rich, full, and meaningful life.
Although gaming and internet addiction are real issues, the line between life-affirming and unhealthy lies in how we approach our pastimes, what content we consume, and whether we have a workable balance or not. There is now much emerging scientific evidence on how gaming can be a part of good mental health. Therapy can include healthy gaming, or use stories, language, and ideas that gamers and "geeks" already intuitively know, but haven't fully applied to their mental health yet!
